Category Expectorant.

             Senega Tincture may be prepared as follows.
             Senega Liquid Extract       200  mL
             Ethanol (60 Per Cent) to       1000  mL
             Mix, allow to stand for not less than 12 hours, and filter.

Dose  2.5 to 5 mL.

Weight per millilitre 0.930 to 0.940 g (Appendix 4.9).

Ethanol content 54.0 to 58.0 per cent v/v (Appendix 6.5).

Total solids 4.9 to 7.0 per cent w/v (Appendix 7.21); use 5 mL.

Other requirements Complies with the requirements described under “Tinctures” (Appendix 1.16).
